AeroClassics is a line of diecast aircraft models in 1/400 scale to complement with other manufacturers products.
One of AeroClassics goals is to provide the scale aircraft collecting community, classic propliners and jetliners
which would otherwise never be produced.

AeroClassics has a vast collection of releases and aircraft types ranging from the 1940's all the way to 90's.
Production runs vary per model but usually are limited to 500 pieces or less per release.
Older releases were decaled whereas newer releases are printed.

AeroClassics is constantly releasing models in new airline liveries and aircraft types,
so be sure to check back often to see the latest releases!

Represented in true to scale accuracy and a high level of detail, it's as close to walking inside the real thing as you can get!

One of the best-known aircraft of the current day is Air Force One, the name given to two Boeing 747s designed to carry the US president. The call sign “Air Force One” can in actual fact refer to any aircraft that has the president aboard, but the term is often used synonymously for this specific pair of planes. The first dedicated presidential aircraft was a C-54 Skymaster, a long way from the two sophisticated Boeing 747-200B aircraft that have been used in the USA since 1990. These customized aircraft are known as the Boeing VC-25A, with all sorts of classified command and communication equipment installed inside. In a war scenario, the president could stay aloft and maintain secure communications with his forces and governmental apparatus. The two VC-25As are operated by the 89th Airlift Wing at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland.

Dragon continues Project Cutaway with an exciting new 1/144 scale model of Air Force One. The cross-sectional nature of this model reveals much of the interior of this highly classified aircraft. The cabin has a new layout in keeping with its specialized function, quite different to the first item Braniff 747-100 cutaway model. Even the wings and engines, as well as the fuselage, receive the fascinating cutaway treatment! It’s not easy to see, let alone get aboard, these US presidential aircraft, but now collectors can keep their own personal Air Force One on their desks!

USAAF XB-35 FLYING WING PROTOTYPE II WITH STAND & METALLIC SKIN (PREBUILT)

The XB-35 was an experimental long-range heavy bomber produced for the US Air Force (USAF) by Northrop during WWII, with the aim being to create an aircraft capable of bombing Germany after taking off from the USA. It was a radical design in that it was a 52.2m-wide flying wing that eliminated the need for a tail and fuselage. The bomb payload was carried inside the single thick wing, such a design had the potential to dispense with structural weight and drag. Crewed by nine personnel, the aircraft was to have a 10,000-mile range whilst carrying a 10,000lb load. Design work began in earnest in 1942, two XB-35 craft were built to pre-production stage. The flying-wing design could not use a traditional rudder, so flaps on the trailing wingtip edges performed this function. Powered by two radial engines, the XB-35's maiden flight occurred in June 1946. By this time the war was over and the USSR was the new enemy. The USAF subsequently cancelled the program and the two XB-35s were scrapped in 1949. However, previous design work led on to the YB-49 jet bomber.

Since the original XB-35 was made of aluminium alloy, Dragon's innovative "metallic skin" technique is used to realistically recreate this material. The result is a fine representation of this futuristic-looking metal-skinned flying wing.

Today is the 2nd Janaury already and it just one day away from getting back to normal. What I mean by that is the 3rd everyone goes back to work and kids return to school. This is bad news for them but always brings a closure to me of what has been the busiest period in the living memory of airspotters. Over 400% up on last year and myself and my wife have enjoyed our short rest bite. Why has it been so busy well i think opening up our ebay shop and listing more on Amazon has helped. However the main website has seen a surge of new customer from all over the world. Our system is great at logging first time buyers and this has been very noticeable. In January we will be putting a short survey on our website and would be grateful if you could take a few minutes to complete and this will be available from the 9th.

Our competitors did not appear to do anything special for Christmas very few bothered to dress there sites with sleighs and bells. It always amazes me that creating the right environment gets people to spend and it is so simply to do these days with instant updates. And besides we love doing that and its fun as well and we get lots of feedback about it all good i am glad to say.

Thanks you for all the cards and e cards we got it. It was quite touching that we got a e card from Baghdad on Christmas day. A troubled country indeed but getting that card says to me it not all bad as the news makes out.

Next post will be the new Gemini models that are due out in January and these will be here around the 27th.

We are pleased to announce new releases from Aviation 200. This release includes the new EC-137D models which was the prototype for the E-3A AWACS aircraft. This model will be polished.

Also announced are two new KDC-10 models from the Netherlands Air Force, one of which is in the 60th anniversary colours of 334 squadron, both models have a different registration number and they only fly two of these aircraft. The last models are a pair of Iran Air Boeing 737 models one of which is polished and they have different titles.

Aviation 200 more new models announced

We are pleased to announce new releases from Aviation 200. The first of the models are limited editions of the BEA BAC-111 with the BEA titles and then the short lived scheme wearing the British Airways titles before being changed to the red tail livery. The second release is from the other half of British Airways which is a BOAC Britannia 100 in the original white tail livery. With the success of the first release of the Argosy they have announced the RAF white top colours which we are sure will be very popular. The last two releases are new tooling’s which are a Boeing 737-400 in the colours of Olympic and the Boeing 737-500 in the colors of Aeroflot Nord both of which we are sure will be popular.
